"Pit Bull" is a generic term used loosely to describe dogs with similar characteristics. This includes the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier & Bull Terriers of any mix. Other dogs that get lumped into this category are the American Bulldog and Dogo Argentino despite major genetic differences. Any dog that is mixed with a "bully breed" may also be called a "pit bull" including those that are descended from the English Bulldog, Boxer Bulldog, French Bulldog, Boston Terrier, Bull Terrier, Bullmastiff and Cane Corso. The pit-bull is not a distinct breed which make it difficult for experts to identify. The truth is any mixed bull breed may be labeled a "pit-bull" if they have the "look."
